Softball Game Preview: Lee Park Prep Knights vs. Oak Level Baptist Academy Conquerors

The Lee Park Prep Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Oak Level Baptist Academy Conquerors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lee Park Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Concord Academy with a sharp 21-3 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the game before.

Ansley Green made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She also tossed three walks, marking her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Nevaeh Alexander was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Swann, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Lee Park Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord Academy only posted an OBP of .417.

Meanwhile, Oak Level Baptist Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Knights 3-1.

Oak Level Baptist Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Lee Park Prep, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Lee Park Prep couldn't quite finish off Oak Level Baptist Academy in their previous meeting on Thursday and fell 3-1. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
