Recap: Lyons Lions vs. Union Colony Prep Timberwolves
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Denver Christian, the Lyons Lions were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 38-28 victory over Union Colony Prep. That's another feather in the cap for Lyons, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lyons was led to victory by Gemma Powell and Marley Chase. Powell dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Chase scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Chase hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Gen Newell, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
The win got Lyons back to even at 4-4. As for Union Colony Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyons will take on Clear Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Clear Creek is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Union Colony Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
