Volleyball Recap: Mattamuskeet Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mattamuskeet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Columbia Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Mattamuskeet wouldn't go down easily and took Columbia into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 15-7.

Mattamuskeet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Columbia, their victory ended a ten-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mattamuskeet is set to face off against their familiar foe Ocracoke at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Columbia will challenge rival Hobgood Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
