Recap: Carter Cowboys vs. Sulphur Springs Wildcats
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Carter Cowboys walked away with it. They secured a 41-35 W over Sulphur Springs on Friday. The win was nothing new for Carter as they're now sitting on three straight.
Camden Patterson went supernova for Carter, rushing for 202 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Patterson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards. Damarion Boozer also helped out as he racked up 102 rushing yards.
When it comes to explaining why Sulphur Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Driver. Despite the final result, he rushed for 130 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 252 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Carter is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Sulphur Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
Carter will face off against Stephenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stephenville is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. Sulphur Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
