Cedarburg (Wis.) sophomore basketball star John Diener ended his recruitment early by committing to DePaul on Wednesday night.

247Sports Director of Basketball Scouting Jerry Meyer was among those to report the development.

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 22.2 points per game in 2015-16 at Cedarburg, helping the Bulldogs improve their win total by eight games over 2014-15.

Diener torched perennial state power Germantown for 32 points in early January and has drawn positive reviews this spring with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors on the adidas circuit.

Blue Demon head coach Dave Leitao coached Diener's cousin, Drake, during his first stint at DePaul from 2002-05.

Rechon Black (North Carolina), Dane Goodwin (Ohio State), Jontay Porter (Washington) and Joe Wieskamp (Iowa) are among other known commitments nationally from high school basketball's Class of 2018.
