Basketball Game Preview: Leake County Gators vs. Humphreys County Cowboys

The Leake County Gators will challenge the Humphreys County Cowboys at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Humphreys County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Leake County, who comes in off a win.

Leake County took a 21-point defeat the last time they faced off against Pelahatchie, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Gators skirted past the Chiefs 64-62. The win was just business as usual for the Gators, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Jaquailyn Pippen went supernova, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Aaron Harrell was another key player, shooting 42% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Humphreys County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 50-46 to Greenville. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leake County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Humphreys County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Leake County beat Humphreys County 12-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Cowboys have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
