Volleyball Game Preview: Rootstown Rovers vs. Girard Indians

After both having extra time off, the Rootstown Rovers and the Girard Indians will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Girard took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rootstown, who comes in off a win.

Kirtland came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Rootstown, but Addie Biggin wouldn't allow it. The Rovers blew past the Hornets 3-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Biggin, who had 20 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

While Rootstown won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Girard came up short against Crestview on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Girard was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Crestview's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10, 25-13.

Rootstown's win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 11-11. As for Girard, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-15.
