Soccer Game Preview: Bearden vs. Heritage

Bearden is a perfect 5-0 against Heritage since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Bearden is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Knoxville Catholic on Saturday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Fighting Irish by a score of 1-0. The loss was Bearden's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against West, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 165th, while West are ranked 21st).

Having lost for the first time this season, Bearden fell to 9-1. As for Heritage, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Everything went Bearden's way against Heritage in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Bearden made off with a 9-0 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mountaineers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
