Basketball Recap: York Prep Comes Up Short

York Prep was the 48-45 winner over Cheraw when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The York Prep Patriots were outmatched by the Cheraw Braves and fell 55-19. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheraw to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anyah Banks, who posted 19 points. Those 19 points gave Banks a new career-high. Jaleah Faulkner was another key player, putting up 18 points.

York Prep is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Cheraw, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

After both having extra time off, York Prep and Westminster Catawba Christian will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Cheraw, they will host Buford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
