Baseball Recap: Dowagiac Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dowagiac's offense. They fell just short of the Brandywine Bobcats by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Chieftains have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Dowagiac got a good showing from Braeden Gillesby, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gillesby has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Dowagiac's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Brandywine, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brandywine beat Dowagiac by a score of 9-3 later that day.
