Baseball Game Preview: Greenon Knights vs. Madison Plains Golden Eagles

The Greenon Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Madison Plains Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Saturday, Greenon came up short against Tri-County North and fell 10-6.

Grayson Shingler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. Carson Fields was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Madison Plains' rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Grandview Heights a 1-0 shutout. While the Golden Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The result came thanks to Linson Bolin's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Madison Plains' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Greenon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
