League recap: Newell-Fonda tops Cal-DOWS to extend winning streak

Newell-Fonda extended the longest winning streak in 8-Man District 2 (8 Man) this week by beating Cal-DOWS, 81-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Mustangs.

Newell-Fonda took down the Cadets 81-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Laurens-Marathon and North Iowa. The Chargers enters the contest ranked 20th in the state, while the Bison ranks 13th.

Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 844 from 963. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 64-14 victory over Northeast Hamilton last week.
