Baseball Game Preview: Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors vs. Independence 76ers

For the second straight game, Yerba Buena will face off against Independence. The Aztec Warriors will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the 76ers at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Yerba Buena has five straight wins, Independence has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Yerba Buena made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Independence, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Aztec Warriors were the clear victors by a 19-9 margin over the 76ers on Tuesday. 19 seems to be a good number for the Aztec Warriors as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Independence's part, Ethan T. Lamosao made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Todd, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one double.

Yerba Buena pushed their record up to 5-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
