Recap: Brainerd Panthers vs. Giles County Bobcats
The Brainerd Panthers fell victim to the Giles County Bobcats''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Bobcats, falling 34-0. Brainerd was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Giles County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamauri A turner, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Zori Randolph and his 102 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Giles County's win.
Another reason for the win was Giles County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Caleb Oates and his two sacks.
Brainerd's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Giles County, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Brainerd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Giles County will be playing in front of their home fans against McMinn Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in McMinn Central's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.
