Softball Recap: Wayne Christian Takes a Loss

Wayne Christian lost against John Paul II Catholic last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Wayne Christian took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of John Paul II Catholic. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Railee Winter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrey Thompson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Wayne Christian suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 5-4. As for John Paul II Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Wayne Christian will face off against North Raleigh Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for John Paul II Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southside at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. John Paul II Catholic's pitchers better be ready for this one: Southside has averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
