Basketball Recap: Houston Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Daleville last Thursday, Houston Academy came back down to earth. The Houston Academy Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 58-57 to the St. Michael Catholic Cardinals . The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Houston Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for St. Michael Catholic, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-8.

Houston Academy and Bayside Academy will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Houston Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Bayside Academy likes a good challenge. As for St. Michael Catholic, they and Providence Christian will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Providence Christian will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something St. Michael Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
