Basketball Recap: Jason Martinez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Westwood Christian over Potter's House Christian

Westwood Christian suffered their closest loss since December 17, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Potter's House Christian Lions by a score of 65-63. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.

Westwood Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jason Martinez, who posted 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayar Dhieu, who had 19 points and eight rebounds.

Potter's House Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cordele Nelson out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Gabe Williams, who scored 15 points and five steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Westwood Christian fell to 3-1. As for Potter's House Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Westwood Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Potter's House Christian, they will head out to challenge The Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
