Football Recap: Riley Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Salmon River over Wallace + How To Watch

Salmon River and Wallace squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Salmon River had to settle for second. They fell 64-58 to the Miners.

Salmon River lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Riley Davis, who rushed for 153 yards and five touchdowns, and also picked up 79 receiving yards and one score. He is becoming a predictor of Salmon River's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 6-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Blake Shepherd, who threw for 282 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt.

Wallace found their leader in sophomore Cooper Miller, who rushed for 224 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 397 yards and three TDs while picking up 15.3 yards per attempt. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last nine games he's played. Wallace's leading receiver Henry Larson was Miller's top target yet again, picking up 325 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Salmon River's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Wallace, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

As of now, neither Salmon River nor the Miners have any future games scheduled.
