Football Recap: Salmon River Savages vs. Wallace Miners
Salmon River and Wallace squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Salmon River had to settle for second. They took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miners.

Several Savages players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Davis, who rushed for 143 yards and six TDs, and also picked up 142 receiving yards and one score. Davis really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards. Salmon River also got a significant boost from Blake Shepherd, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
Cooper Miller was his usual excellent self, rushing for 224 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 397 yards and three TDs while picking up 15.3 yards per attempt for Wallace. That's the most rushing yards Miller has posted since back in October of 2024. Wallace's leading receiver Henry Larson was Miller's top target yet again, picking up 325 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Salmon River's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Wallace, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Salmon River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wallace, they have already played their next matchup, a 68-66 victory against Genesee/Colton WA on the 7th.
