South Pasadena typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday La Puente proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Tigers 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 735th, while the Tigers are ranked 215th).

Pioneer is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. As for La Puente, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
