Baseball Recap: Pleasant Plains Snags 11th Win in Last 13 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Pleasant Plains rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the Pittsfield Saukees get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by exactly four runs.

The result came thanks to Sean Lowder's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trager Shultz was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Schallenberg, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Pleasant Plains hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Pleasant Plains has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-7 record this season. As for Pittsfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-11.

As of now, neither Pleasant Plains nor the Saukees have any future games scheduled.
