Basketball Game Preview: Biddeford Tigers vs. Marshwood Hawks

Biddeford has won ten straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Marshwood has won ten straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Biddeford Tigers will welcome the Marshwood Hawks at 6:30 p.m.

Biddeford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Mt. Ararat, who was ranked seventh at the time (Biddeford was ranked 16th). Biddeford fell just short of Mt. Ararat by a score of 48-45 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Marshwood made easy work of York on Tuesday and carried off a 67-43 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Marshwood's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Biddeford, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Biddeford was able to grind out a solid victory over Marshwood when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 65-55. Does Biddeford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marshwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
