Baseball Recap: West Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for West's offense. They fell just short of the North Saxons by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by just one run.

Reef Sharman spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

This is the second loss in a row for West and nudges their season record down to 3-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for North, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, West will be playing at home against Culver City at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The last five games Culver City has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for North, they will take on Serra at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Serra will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something North surely won't give up without a fight.
