Basketball Recap: Holly Wildcats vs. Las Animas Trojans
Holly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Las Animas Trojans. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 42-35 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the loss, Holly still got an impressive performance from Josie Kissell, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Graci Morlan, who posted nine points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Holly was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Las Animas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jadann Eck out in front who went 9 for 14 on her way to 23 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Analyce Wilson, who went 6 of 10 en route to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.
Holly's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Las Animas, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Holly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-11 win against Manzanola on the 25th. As for Las Animas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 53-11 victory against Walsenburg on the 24th.
