Volleyball Game Preview: Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs vs. Villa Joseph Marie Jems

The Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs will head out on the road to face off against the Villa Joseph Marie Jems at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Gwynedd Mercy Academy has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Gwynedd Mercy Academy turned things around against Merion Mercy Academy on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Golden Bears, sneaking past 3-2.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (110-99), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 28-26, 17-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Villa Joseph Marie suffered their biggest defeat since September 4th on Tuesday. They came up short against Mt. St. Joseph Academy, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 25-9.

Villa Joseph Marie's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Gwynedd Mercy Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy beat Villa Joseph Marie 3-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Monarchs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
