Recap: Poquoson Islanders vs. Smithfield Packers
The Poquoson Islanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against Smithfield, falling 81-52. Poquoson lost against Smithfield in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 85-52 score last time.
Poquoson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dayne Galacgac, who scored 17 points. Dominic Galacgac was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Poquoson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Smithfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poquoson will be home for the holidays to greet Warhill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithfield will be home for the holidays to greet Tabb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
