Football Recap: Mount Vernon Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Mount Vernon had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 55-36 victory over the New Diana Eagles. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 68-17 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Coming up, Mount Vernon will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Rusk at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Diana, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Gladewater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
