Softball Recap: Capuchino Triumphs

While Capuchino's win against Carlmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Scots 7-6 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Scots: they've now won four in a row.

Lily Thomas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Setaita Mau was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Capuchino's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Carlmont, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-20-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Capuchino will host Woodside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Wildcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Carlmont, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against San Mateo at 4:30 p.m. The Scots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
