Volleyball Recap: Carsyn Taylor's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brown County over Macomb

Brown County lost against Macomb back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hornets fell 2-0 to the Bombers. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-20.

Brown County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carsyn Taylor, who had 21 digs. Emma Lerch was another key player, getting eight digs.

Macomb's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sophie Wilson led the charge by getting four digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Westerhold, who had seven digs and two aces.

Brown County's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Macomb, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Brown County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Pittsfield on the 16th. As for Macomb, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Rochester on the 12th.
