Preview: Viera Hawks vs. Martin County Tigers
Viera is on a four-game streak of home losses, Martin County a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Viera Hawks will take on the Martin County Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Viera came up short against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy and fell 56-47. Viera has struggled against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Lauren Bell, who scored 22 points. That was a full 46.8% of Viera's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Martin County suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Centennial at home and fell 65-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Martin County has scored all season.
Viera has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Martin County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
