Recap: Gibault Catholic Hawks vs. Mater Dei Knights
The Gibault Catholic Hawks were the 63-52 winner over the Mater Dei Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Gibault Catholic falling 53-38. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Drake Wagner, who scored 28 points for Mater Dei. The matchup was Wagner's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Rakers, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Gibault Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Mater Dei, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Gibault Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Father McGivney Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Father McGivney Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Mater Dei, they will head out on the road to face off against Collinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Collinsville will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
