Paxton is on  a three-game streak of home losses, and Vernon a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck  on Friday. The Paxton Bobcats will host the Vernon Yellowjackets  at 6:00  p.m. Paxton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1  runs per game  this season.
Paxton was handed a 13-run  loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene  on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Ponce De Leon  5-3. The  win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.
 Paxton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kenzie Lassiter, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. That  stolen base was  Lassiter's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Vernon came into Thursday's   contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Malone 18-8 on Thursday. The Yellowjackets not only won  on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win  since February 18th.
 Ava Roche was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing five bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Those  five  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Cheyenne Wilson was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Vernon was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Malone only posted a  batting average of  .188.
 Paxton's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
 Paxton skirted past Vernon  8-7 in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024. Will Paxton repeat their success,  or does  Vernon has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
