Softball Game Preview: Juarez-Lincoln Huskies vs. Martin Tigers

The Juarez-Lincoln Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Martin Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Juarez-Lincoln's last matchup with Nixon could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. Juarez-Lincoln lost 8-0 to Nixon. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Huskies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Juarez-Lincoln saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valeria Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Martin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Palmview, falling 19-0.

Juarez-Lincoln has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. Martin's loss dropped their record down to 0-19.

Martin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Juarez-Lincoln has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .431. It's a different story for Martin, though, as they've only averaged .307. Will they be able to contain Juarez-Lincoln's hitters?

Everything went Juarez-Lincoln's way against Martin in their previous meeting back in February, as Juarez-Lincoln made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Juarez-Lincoln since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
