Baseball Recap: Fossil Ridge Has No Trouble Against Grand Junction

While Fossil Ridge put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Grand Junction. Everything went the Fossil Ridge SaberCats' way against the Grand Junction Tigers as the Fossil Ridge SaberCats made off with an 8-0 win. The SaberCats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Grand Junction's batters probably weren't too happy with Vedant Sharma, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (he gave up two walks). That's the most strikeouts Sharma has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luc Gaca-Thiele, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Tyler Kephart was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run.

Fossil Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Fossil Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Grand Junction, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2.

Coming up, Fossil Ridge is taking a road trip to challenge Legacy at 1:00 p.m. on March 22nd. As for Grand Junction, they will welcome Mountain View at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
