Baseball Game Preview: Central Rockets vs. Prairie Ridge Wolves

For the second straight game, Central will face off against Prairie Ridge. The Rockets will face off against the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Central 3.4, Prairie Ridge 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Prairie Ridge on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central got a good showing from Tyler Kotwica, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kotwica has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Pollack, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Prairie Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
