Martinsburg took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Hampshire, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Trojans 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their ten-game losing streak.

Malayja Williams and Danayja Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Malayja scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Danayja scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Malayja has posted since back in April of 2024. Daysha Cook was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Hampshire, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Martinsburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
