Basketball Recap: Newcomb Beats Cuba for Their Fourth Straight Win

Newcomb's game on Monday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They were the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over the Cuba Rams. That's more bragging rights for the Skyhawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the defeat, Cuba had strong showings from Denale Sandoval, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and seven rebounds, and Cara Toledo, who posted 11 points.

The victory (which was Newcomb's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. As for Cuba, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Newcomb wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-32 win against Thoreau on the 14th. Cuba has also already played their next matchup, a 55-7 victory against Coronado on the 16th.
