Volleyball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Longmont Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14, 22-25, 25-17.

Gabriela Medina-Valdez paced Skyline's offense, picking up 16 kills. Medina-Valdez got some help from Lizeth Medina-Valdez and her 32 assists. Audrey Prado-King controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Longmont, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 7-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Skyline is set to take on their familiar foe Centaurus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Longmont will face off against rival Frederick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
