Baseball Recap: Wenatchee Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Wenatchee had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Selah Vikings. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Wenatchee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Butler, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Another was Simeon Shanbour, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

The victory was the third in a row for Selah, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Wenatchee Panthers face off against Ephrata Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Selah has already played their next matchup (against Sehome), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
