Soccer Recap: Piedmont Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Piedmont Highlanders came up short against the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 627th, while the Dragons are ranked 270th).

Piedmont's goal came courtesy of Jacques Saldanha, who's now up to two this season.

Piedmont's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-4. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4-2 record this season.

Piedmont will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Mt. Eden at 7:00 p.m. Piedmont's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. Bishop O'Dowd has already played their next contest, a 2-2 draw against Richmond on the 25th.
