Softball Recap: Scottsdale Christian Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at 16 Games

Scottsdale Christian Academy can bid farewell to their 16-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against the Red Rock Scorpions by a score of 12-9.

Madeleine (Maddie) Ketchum made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ketchum was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Evin Ott was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Bethany Ando was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

The victory got Scottsdale Christian Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Red Rock, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles face off against Fountain Hills Falcons at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Scottsdale Christian Academy their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Red Rock, they will be playing at home against Tempe Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Red Rock has given up an average of 21.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
