Basketball Recap: Providence Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gavin Winfrey and Mason Morgan

Providence Academy lost against Unicoi County back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Providence Academy lost 67-41 to Unicoi County. The game marked Providence Academy's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mason Morgan and Gavin Winfrey certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Morgan posted ten points and four steals, while Winfrey scored 13 points and three steals. Winfrey is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Beckner, who had three points and five boards.

Providence Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Unicoi County, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-3.

Providence Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-64 win against Chuckey-Doak on the 29th. Unicoi County has also already played their next game (against Cloudland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
