Baseball Game Preview: Chaparral Pumas vs. Vista Murrieta Broncos

For the second straight game, Chaparral will face off against Vista Murrieta. The Pumas will host the Broncos at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Chaparral has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Vista Murrieta will come in with 13 straight wins.

On Tuesday, Chaparral didn't have quite enough to beat Vista Murrieta and fell 7-6.

Chaparral got a good showing from Colby Creamer, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Creamer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brody Harkey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Jaiden Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Vista Murrieta pushed their record up to 21-5-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Chaparral, they now have a losing record of 12-13.
