Basketball Game Preview: Refugio Bobcats vs. Three Rivers Bulldogs

The Refugio Bobcats will venture away from home to face off against the Three Rivers Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Refugio has six straight victories, Three Rivers has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Refugio will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Port Aransas, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Refugio came out on top against Port Aransas by a score of 43-33 on Tuesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Refugio to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cedie Wills, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Wills has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Bradi Fox-Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Three Rivers came up short against Woodsboro on Tuesday, falling 39-19.

Refugio is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Three Rivers, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Refugio came up short against Three Rivers in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 33-28. Can Refugio avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
