Baseball Recap: Tanner Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Springs Valley over West Washington

Springs Valley extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 7-9 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the West Washington Senators, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Senators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Springs Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Hall, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

As for West Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

On West Washington's side, Hayden Morrow made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Morrow was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Williams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Nevin Marrs was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springs Valley will take on Perry Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commodores will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Blackhawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Washington, they will face off against Clarksville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Generals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.89 runs per game on average), something the Senators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
