Baseball Recap: Bishop Machebeuf's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Bishop Machebeuf lost to Front Range Christian back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Buffaloes walked away with a 6-3 win over the Falcons. The victory was some much needed relief for the Buffaloes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jack Menke and Matthew Menke made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Menke pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Meanwhile, Matthew pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Jack has become a key player for Bishop Machebeuf: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. At the plate, Menke went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Matthew went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was John Menke, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Bishop Machebeuf now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Front Range Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Bishop Machebeuf will host Dayspring Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Buffaloes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Front Range Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Dawson School at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.62 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
