Thornton extended their winning streak to ten games thanks to a huge performance from Clayton Jones. The Thornton Trojans walked away with a 56-44 win over the Adams City Eagles on Tuesday thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 boards. His evening made it 22 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Isaiah Cushing was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Thornton's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. As for Adams City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Looking ahead, Thornton will be playing in front of their home fans against Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Thornton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Gateway likes a good challenge. As for Adams City, they will square off against Aurora Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Adams City is facing Aurora Central at the right time seeing as Aurora Central is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
