Recap: McKenzie Tigers vs. Houston County Lions
After flying high against the Kinston Bulldogs last Friday, The McKenzie Tigers came back down to earth. McKenzie took a hard 48-32 fall against Houston County on Friday. McKenzie has struggled against Houston County recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, McKenzie still got an impressive performance from Jah'marren Jackson, who picked up 159 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Johnny Davison was in the mix as well, providing McKenzie with two touchdowns.
McKenzie's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Houston County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKenzie will face off against Elba at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elba will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Houston County, they will head out on the road to face off against Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kinston is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
