Recap: Peabody Warhorses vs. Crescent City Christian Pioneers
The Peabody Warhorses have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 72-40 blowout they got on the road against Crescent City Christian. The win was nothing new for Peabody as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Peabody's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justin Burns, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds. The game was Burns' 15th in a row with at least ten points. Jordan Mathews was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Peabody has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Crescent City Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Peabody and Silsbee will face off at 11:00 a.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Silsbee's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Crescent City Christian, they will be playing at home against Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Phoenix is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
