Baseball Recap: Big Foot's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Big Foot posted their closest victory since April 24th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Evansville Blue Devils 2-1. For the Chiefs, this counts as revenge for the 4-0 win the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Connor Weeks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on nine hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Big Foot is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 4-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Big Foot saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Henningfeld, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Big Foot's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Evansville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.

Big Foot will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
